Raj brings over 20 years of experience in the information technology sector to bear on delivering financial services for technology-led companies (including consulting, advisory and fund-raising) and as a Board member and advisor to CEOs.
Previously, from 2001 - 2006, Raj was a principal for the New York-based Venture Capital arm of Investcorp International, where he was responsible for sourcing, negotiating and closing new investments in technology-led start-ups, and for maintaining existing investments. He sat on the Boards of several of Investcorp's investments and co-invested with many top firms such as August Capital, Goldman Sachs, Intel Capital, Interwest, Investor Growth Capital, Mayfield, and Venrock. Raj participated in the raising of two funds worth over $500 million.
From 1995 - 2000, Raj was a principal and a co-founder of the e-Business core team at Booz, Allen & Hamilton in Europe, where he led strategy and technology projects in the electronic business, telecommunications, and financial services sectors.
He has also held multiple positions within IBM, including consultant for the Telecoms and Media Consulting group, systems engineer and technical expert for PC operating systems and programming languages, and lead technical support for the re-seller channel in PC operating systems, graphics and languages. In addition, he lectured for IBM in Europe, and has written two internal 'red books' on object-oriented software design.
Raj holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science from Imperial College in London, England. He is a member of the Securities Institute and TiE.
