Kim Taipale, General Partner
Mr. Taipale is a founding partner of Parkview TMB. He has over twenty-five years of diverse experience relating to information and communication technology and related areas.
Mr. Taipale is also the managing partner of Stilwell Holding LLC, a private investment firm, the founder and executive director of the Stilwell Center, a private think tank focused on information, technology, and national security policy, and a director of the Stilwell Charitable Fund. Additionally, he is a senior fellow at the World Policy Institute and serves on the Markle Task Force on National Security in the Information Age.
Mr. Taipale was previously a senior fellow at Columbia University, an investment banker at Lazard Frères & Company, a corporate executive at The Pullman Company, and, earlier, a lawyer at Davis Polk & Wardwell.
Mr. Taipale is a frequent invited speaker, has appeared before Congressional and other national committees, and is the author of numerous academic papers, journal articles, and book chapters on information, technology, and national security issues. He has been quoted on current technology issues in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Washington Times, the Boston Globe, Wired News, MIT Technology Review, Business Week, Newsweek and The Economist, and has appeared on NPR, PBS, and ABC News, among others.
Mr. Taipale has extensive professional experience in a wide variety of diverse endeavors and with many kinds of complex issues and transactions. He has worked with international and national corporations, government agencies and other public institutions, as well as start-up companies and not-for-profit organizations.
Mr. Taipale received his B.A. from New York University and his J.D. from the New York University School of Law. He also received his M.A. and his M.Ed. in communications from Columbia University and his LL.M. from the Columbia Law School. (more)
